NorthBay One of “Best 50” Health Care Providers for Supply Chain Excellence

NorthBay Healthcare has been named one of the 2016 “Best 50” supply chains in North America by Global Healthcare Exchange, LLC (GHX). NorthBay was chosen for its work in improving operational performance and driving down costs through the supply chain.

To select the Best 50, GHX looked at the performance of more than 4,000 hospitals in the U.S. and Canada connected to the GHX electronic trading exchange. GHX identified the 50 health care organizations that scored highest in areas such as maximizing document automation, exchange utilization and trading partner connections during the 2016 calendar year.

To qualify for “Best 50” recognition an organization must process at least 10,000 transactions annually, explained Pam Venturi, director of supply chain management. “This recognition reflects the outstanding work done by NorthBay's accounts payable and materials management teams to help our organization maximize automation and efficiency.”

GHX provides the electronic platform that releases purchase orders to our vendors, as well as receiving confirmations and electronic invoices. This process also provides real time exception review for price, contract compliance, unit of measure and backorder information. GHX connects health care providers to more than 350 manufacturer and distributor divisions.

Why does this matter? Because when everything aligns and it is sent electronically – nobody has to touch it again!  GHX is passionate about removing waste from the business side of health care to free up resources that can focus on clinical areas.
