HealthSpring Opens to All

On July 1, the doors to NorthBay HealthSpring Fitness swung open, ushering in an exciting new and inclusive concept in the world of fitness: A facility that welcomes a wide range of age groups, people of all shapes and sizes, abilities and disabilities into an environment that caters to everyone's unique needs.

NorthBay Healthcare is partnering with EXOS|MediFit, an industry leader in providing medical fitness facilities, to manage the center.

The 56,000-square-foot, three-story structure has a 500-yard walking track, three pools (a lap pool, a general purpose pool, a warm water therapy pool) and a whirlpool. There are also group exercise rooms, a cycling room, a large cardio area, strength training and personal training areas and a Queenax fitness system with a high-tech tracking system, which will remember where you left off.

A daycare area and playground allows gym members to check their children in for two-hour periods while they exercise.

Gregory Nagaye is HealthSpring's general manager. He oversees a team of more than 100 trainers, aquatic staff, instructors, front desk greeters and maintenance and housekeeping folks.

The fitness center anchors the western portion of the VacaValley Wellness Center. The eastern end houses medical offices for NorthBay Cancer Center, Integrative Medicine, Diabetes & Endocrinology, and more.
