Employees once again said they consider NorthBay Healthcare a “great place to work” in 2016.

A confidential, independent survey showed 86 percent of employees agreed with the statement, “All things considered, this is a great place to work.”

Additionally, 91 percent of the 1,559 employees who answered the survey agreed with the statement, “I am proud to tell others I work here.”

The survey, conducted by the Great Place to Work Institute ( which compiles Fortune magazine's list of the 100 Best Companies to Work For), assesses 58 core trust indicators.

“It was further evidence we have a strong work culture that earns the trust of employees,” noted Ken McCollum, vice president of Human Resources. “It also gives us tremendous amounts of feedback that will help us address areas where we need to improve.”

A score of 86 percent on the survey earned NorthBay recognition by the institute as a “certified” great place to work. This new certification program recognizes companies that score well on the survey, whether or not they are selected for the Fortune 100 Best Companies list.

“Being certified is an acknowledgement that we have built a culture here that sets us apart from not only other health care systems, but among employers nationwide,” Ken explained. A special website of businesses that are certified by the Great Place to Work Institute can be found at
