Foundation Looks to Reorganize and Reimagine

In July, Brett Johnson, president of NorthBay Healthcare Foundation, retired after a 27-year career at NorthBay, and his departure brought an opportunity to reimagine the Foundation’s structure and operation, particularly as it faced an economic downturn brought on by the stressors of a pandemic.

Leaders of the Board of Directors made the difficult decision to have the Foundation go on hiatus, and established a subcommittee to determine how the Foundation might move forward in a post-pandemic world.

Working with President and CEO B. Konard Jones, the committee is focused on how to re-brand, re-invent, and re-launch the Foundation to ensure its continued growth.

The Foundation continues to accept donations from employees, grateful patients, the general public and loyal benefactors. Susan Cianci, program coordinator, oversees daily operations, donations and liaison work with the NorthBay Guild, which remained inactive due to the pandemic but will return to service when it is safe.

The Foundation’s Mission to Serve and Dream of a Lifetime programs — benefitting NorthBay Healthcare Hospice patients -- also continue.
